Óscar Domínguez (1906, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, 1957, Paris) was a surrealist painter from the Canary Islands who belonged to the generation of '27. He was one of the most important Spanish artists of this genre and came into contact with great painters of this move.
He spent the first years of his life in Tenerife, between La Laguna, where he lived, and Tacoronte, where he spent the summer.
His depressive crises, associated with problems with alcohol and the chronic disease he suffered from (Acromegaly or elephantiasis), led him to commit suicide in the New Year of 1958. He was buried in the Montparnasse cemetery,
