Luis Fernández López (Oviedo, April 29, 1900 - Paris, October 25, 1973) was an Asturian painter.
Son of Enrique Fernández from Logroño, professor at the University of Oviedo.
After completing his studies, he moved to Paris in 1924, where he came into contact with the artistic movement of Montparnasse while earning a living working in a printing press.
However, Fernández's work will gradually evolve towards a personal and hermetic world.
In his last years his work was recovered by critics, and in 1972 an anthological exhibition organized by the French National Center for Contemporary Art in Paris was held.
Most of his work is preserved in the Telefónica Art Collection and in the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias.
