Juan Alcalde Alonso (Madrid, February 9, 1918-Madrid, May 31, 2020) was a Spanish painter and engraver.
It was born in the Rastro de Madrid.
In 1931 he studied at the Madrid School of Arts and Crafts and in 1933 he entered the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied until the outbreak of the Civil War.
When the Count of Romanones, director of the Royal Academy, had promised him a scholarship to study in Paris, the start of the civil war cut short his hopes and together with his brother, who will drop dead, he will be on the front in Madrid.
He has to retire to France where he is interned in a concentration camp.
