Baltasar Lobo Casquero (Cerecinos de Campos, Zamora, February 22, 1910-Paris, September 4, 1993) was a Spanish cartoonist and sculptor well known for his compositions representing mothers and children.
Baltasar Lobo, the most internationally renowned sculptor from Zamora in the 20th century, was born on February 22, 1910 in Cerecinos de Campos, the town of Zamora, into a humble family. His father, Isaac, was a cart driver.
He was one of the artists who contributed to the Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas project and did the illustrations for the English translation of the work Platero y yo by Juan Ramón Jiménez.
In the 1980s, fortunately, his ties with the land where he was born and which he never wanted to forget were strengthened.
Baltasar Lobo died in 1993 and was buried in Paris at the Montparnasse Cemetery.
